The Coffee Creed

This is my coffee. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My coffee is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. Without me, my coffee, is useless. Without my coffee, I am useless. I must make my coffee true. I must dose better than anyone else. I must pour better than anyone else. I will…

My coffee and myself know that what counts is not the crema we make, the sound of our Bezzera, nor our tamping. We know that it is the coffees that count. We will…

My coffee is human, even as I, because it is my life. Thus, I will learn it as a brother. I will learn its weaknesses, its strength, its smell, its sights and its taste. I will keep my Gaggia clean and ready, even as I am clean and ready. We will become part of each other. We will…

Before the World, I swear this creed. My coffee and myself are the defenders of my acumen. We are the masters of our future. We are the saviors of my life. So be it, until there is no decaf and there is only peace!

No milk, just the beautiful crema of my espresso.

See you next time.

  1. Brilliant! I’m seriously considering printing this up, framing it, and displaying it in the corner of my kitchen where my electric drip, my 15-bar espresso, my briki, my French press, my all-glass percolator, and my Vietnamese on-cup filters live alongside some individually-portioned Korean instant coffee in total harmony.
